JOB SUMMARY:
Provides basic, direct patient care, taking into account specific needs as related to patient s age. Assumes responsibility for care of patients and functions as a member of the health care team, taking direction and guidance from Registered Nurse. All care is provided in compliance with and according to department policy/procedure and Standards of Care.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Participates in assessment of patient needs and communication with the health care team. Participates in staff, patient and/or family education to a degree consistent with personal knowledge base. Participates in unit Quality Improvement activities. Uses an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient s age specific needs and provide age specific treatment and care.
