HIRING EVENT

Kensington Place - 1001 Parkview Boulevard, Columbus

Tuesday, April 2nd from 10am - 2pm

REQUIREMENTS for a Dining Supervisor with Lutheran Social Services:

  • High school education or GED required.
  • 3-5 years experience in the food industry (preferred).
  • Experience in a mid to upscale dining environment is preferred.
  • 1-3 years previous supervisory experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES for a Dining Supervisor with Lutheran Social Services:

  • Leads, coordinates, and participates in the ensuring an orderly, high quality, friendly dining experience for residents and guests. Ensures that guests are seated and waited on in a timely manner. Anticipates the needs of the residents and their guests and responds to customer comments, questions, and concerns in a positive and proactive manner ensuring relationships are being continually built. Empowers servers and other dining staff to respond to customers in the same manner. May assist with initial guest encounter including taking guests to their table, getting water, coffee, etc.
  • Ensures an appropriate appearance and maintenance of the 'front of the house' restaurant including general cleanliness and sanitation of the entire dining area, cleanliness of service and prep areas, table clean up/set ups and arrangements, dining room d�cor, etc.
  • Orders and ensures proper inventory of dining equipment including table cloths, napkins, and other linens, tea lights, etc. Ensures appropriate stock levels including returning/replacement of unusable inventory.
  • Provides leadership, development, work direction, and scheduling of dining room staff. This includes selecting, training, coaching, providing performance feedback, disciplining, and termination of employees as necessary. Creates monthly work schedules ensuring adequate staffing all times and manages staff replacements for unplanned absences. Works with staff to manages and accommodate, as able, time off requests.
  • Leads, coordinates, and participates in managing catered events. Works with Kitchen Manager to determine details of catered events including but not limited to meal timing and delivery method, staffing needs, etc. Ensures scheduling of dining room staff for catered events is appropriate and meets expectations.
  • Participates in the Dining Services rotational supervisory duty, being responsible for the entire dining room, front and back, every other weekend. Acts in place of Kitchen Manager in his/her absence. Participates in Kensington Place Manager on Call rotation approximately every six weeks.
  • Leads the creation of the annual dining room budget with oversight of the Residence Director. Monitors the approved budget against expenses to ensure the Dining Room stays within budget. Brings and issues or budget variance concerns to the attention of the Residence Director. This includes ensures bills are coded accurately and are reconciled against orders, catered events are billed appropriately, etc. Completes reporting as required by the Residence Director.
  • Positively, proactively, and constructively supports the Agency vision, mission and quality standards at all times.
  • Acts as a role model in carrying out job duties assigned within this position. This includes ethical management, strong work ethic, solid communications, creative problem solving, and a focus on results in a team environment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
