LEAD HOUSEKEEPING SPECIALIST

Reports to: Building Engineer

Classification: Non-Exempt. Full-time.

Flexibility to work days, weekends, evenings, and special events.

Pay Range: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Location: De Pere, WI (not eligible for remote work)

ABOUT THE HOUSEKEEPING SPECIALIST POSITION

The Lead Housekeeping Specialist plays a pivotal role in maintaining the pristine condition of our facility and grounds, ensuring they remain clean, orderly, and welcoming at all times. They will not only excel in daily housekeeping tasks, but also possess leadership skills to guide a team effectively. This role involves overseeing various housekeeping operations, including team management, project coordination, inventory maintenance, and compliance adherence.

RESPONSIBILITES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO

· Perform spot mopping of floors and place caution signs as needed.

· Utilize floor cleaning equipment to vacuum carpets, sweep, deep clean, and polish floors.

· Clean and maintain mirrors, windows, and glass surfaces.

· Polish chrome and stainless steel fixtures.

· Dust fixtures, countertops, furniture, windowsills, and other surfaces.

· Sanitize and maintain toilets, sinks, and showers.

· Manage trash and recyclable removal from both indoor and outdoor areas.

· Maintain cleanliness of terrace, courtyard, walkways, driveways, and parking areas.

· Disinfect high-touch surfaces such as desks, door handles, railings, tables, chairs, and elevator controls.

· Assist with meeting and event setup and takedown, ensuring cleanliness and organization.

· Perform minor repairs and address urgent tasks as directed.

· Ensure housekeeping shop towels are laundered and neatly stored.

· Assist in the selection process of housekeeping staff.

· Provide training and mentorship to new team members.

· Develop and maintain the schedule for the housekeeping team.

· Adjust schedules as necessary to accommodate staffing levels, special events, or emergencies.

· Schedule and delegate tasks to ensure efficient operation of the housekeeping team.

· Act as a point of contact for team members, addressing concerns and providing guidance as needed.

· Lead larger-scale housekeeping projects such as window cleaning, floor maintenance, etc.

· Develop project plans, allocate resources, and oversee project execution to ensure timely completion.

· Collaborate with other departments to coordinate housekeeping activities with overall building operations.

· Monitor and manage inventory levels of housekeeping supplies and equipment using the CMMS system.

· Conduct regular inspections to identify housekeeping needs and address them proactively.

· Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.

· Maintain records and documentation related to housekeeping compliance, including Safety Data Sheets (SDS) recordkeeping.

· Serve as the primary owner of all cleaning chemicals used within the facility.

· Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of cleaning chemicals in accordance with safety guidelines.

· Provide support with various tasks and projects as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· Minimum of 2 years’ experience in housekeeping or janitorial services, with demonstrated leadership capabilities.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and other departments.

· Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and chemicals, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

· Enjoys executing routine tasks with diligence and demonstrates sharp attention to detail.

· Familiarity with inventory management systems and basic computer skills.

· Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.

· Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to housekeeping and facility maintenance.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

· Capable of lifting/moving/maneuvering objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

· Willingness to engage in frequent physical tasks, including standing, kneeling, bending, stooping, lifting, and reaching throughout shifts.

· Exposure to outdoor elements and variable temperatures, including extreme conditions.

· Potential exposure to fumes from delivery trucks and other equipment.

· The capacity to navigate and pull heavy carts throughout various departments within the facility.
