What will be expected of you:
- Consistently maintain high standards of quality, cost, eye appeal, and flavor of foods
- Take inventory of all items required for station set-up and determine those items that require preparation
- Consult with dining service personnel during daily line-ups
- Assist in food delivery, storage, and issuing of food items
- Check mise en place before service time and inspect the presentation of food items to ensure that quality standards are met
- Assist with the production of daily specials for restaurants
- Make recommendations for maintenance, repair, and upkeep of the kitchen and its equipment
- Ability to work all stations in the kitchen
- Notifies Sous Chef of expected shortages
- Attends kitchen staff meetings and offers suggestions for improvements
- Follows all safety procedures for operating and cleaning machinery
- Knowledge of and ability to perform required roles during emergency situations
- Assists with other duties as assigned by Sous Chef
How we determine your qualifications
- Knowledge and experience in sauteing, broiler stations, modern cooking, and plate presentation techniques
- 3 years of experience as a cook in a hotel, or resort, preferred
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written
- Able to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
