Senior Project Manager

The Role: The Project Manager has the responsibility for the successful planning and execution of specific projects. They shall work with senior managers, sales, estimating, and engineering to ensure that all the customers' expectations are in line with our company policies and goals. The project manager must be able to ask penetrating questions, detect unstated assumptions, and resolve conflicts as they relate to scheduling and fabrication issues.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Develops a detailed project plan, schedule with milestones and a critical path that meets contractual obligations and the time requirements of the client.
• Monitors accounts receivable based on weekly update from accounting. Contacts client to determine reasons for non-payment.
• Regularly study the project budget status. Acts as required to keep the project on or below budget.
• Manages and monitors the critical path on the master schedule. Ensures the Assistant Project Manager manages and monitors all assigned aspects of the schedule.
• Improves customer relationships by providing timely and accurate responses to their inquiries
• Maintains knowledge of field trade technologies, methodologies and concerns. Understands the productivity needed from each department to meet project schedule and budget.
• Ensures our installation teams have the information needed to fulfill their obligations, including shop drawings, specifications, scheduling information, access to the project site, etc.
• Maintain a schedule of onsite visits to ensure successful kickoff of the project, mid term site visits to ensure schedule alignment, site readiness and project completion.
• Keeps the client apprised of developments in the project, including any change orders that may be needed, change in timelines, etc.
• Maintain a close relationship with the customer's on-site personnel, constantly reviewing the schedule, on-site conditions, field dimensions, product details, ensuring that what is being fabricated will be of good value to the job.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Excellent multitasking and problem solving skills
• Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
• Detail-oriented and highly organized

Education and Experience:

• 8+ years experience in project management in the construction industry
• Bachelors degree in related discipline preferred.
• 5+ years' experience in millwork or cabinet making, preferred
• PMP certification or willing to complete within 3 years of employment
