The Department of Radiology in the School of Medicine at the University of Washington in Seattle is recruiting for one full-time (100% FTE) faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor without tenure (WOT) by reason of funding, commensurate with experience, to join the department with an anticipated start date of September 1, 2024. Assistant Professors WOT are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Associate Professors WOT and full Professors WOT hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.
The section seeks an individual who will engage in scholarly work, teaching, and clinical service in both pulmonary and cardiac imaging. The successful candidate will work with cardiovascular MRI and CT, chest CT and chest radiographs.
The Cardiothoracic Imaging section currently has eight faculty members with a range of expertise in pulmonary and cardiac imaging and provides pulmonary, vascular, cardiac CT and MR diagnostic interpretations. The section maintains close relationships with internal medicine, pulmonology, oncology, bone marrow transplantation, cardiology, and cardiac and thoracic surgery services at all hospital sites; the University of Washington Medical Center Montlake and Northwest campuses, Harborview Medical Center, and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. Cardiothoracic Imaging has an active fellowship program and faculty are responsible for the instruction of cardiothoracic imaging fellows, in addition to medical students and diagnostic radiology residents.
The base salary range for this position will be: $30,322 - $37,251 per month ($363,864 - $447,012 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization. This position is incentive eligible through the physicians practice plan.
