Clinical Assistant

The Genetics Clinic Assistant (GCA) provides education for patients of the clinic, coordinates counseling and testing for patients and documentation of personal and family medical history. Assist with clinic flow, manage coordination of joint visits with genetic counselors and physicians and reviewing research consent forms with patients. Escort patients to laboratory for blood draws or collection of saliva samples for genetic testing. Preparing paperwork of blood or saliva samples for transportation to laboratories within and outside of PSJH. Coordination with healthcare providers and laboratories.

Required Qualifications:

• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association

• Experience with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree: Biological/Health Sciences

• Coursework/Training: Science or Biology

• Experience working in a healthcare setting

• Experience with medical terminology
