CLINICAL COORDINATOR

Monday - Friday (8:30 am - 5:00 pm)

Pay Rate: $26-$33/hr

Location: Auburn Hills Campus

Department: Economic & Workforce Development

The Clinical Coordinator will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the clinical education program and works directly with the Program Coordinator to integrate didactic classroom instruction with clinical experience. The Clinical Coordinator acts as a liaison between the students, instructors, staff, and clinical affiliates. This position works in a fast paced, multi-cultural, diverse working environment.

Typical Duties:

• Collects and maintains mandatory health requirements and records in compliance with Michigan State Board of Nursing and hospital affiliate regulations.

• Works collaboratively with students, colleagues, and clinical partners to integrate instructional activities and maintain partnerships.

• Establishes new clinical partnerships to expand the clinical education experience.

• Collaborates in the preparation of the clinical schedule and assures student placement.

• Evaluates clinical education effectiveness at all clinical site locations.

• Evaluates and assures clinical competency of each student.

• Participates in information sessions and orientation for prospective students.

• Supports Program Coordinator to assure effective program operations.

• Performs other related duties, as assigned.

• Ability to work additional hours, as needed.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

• Ability to engage collaboratively and professionally with students, instructors, colleagues, and clinical partners to ensure the successful achievement of student learning outcomes.

• Experience in actively engaging students and maintaining clinical partnerships.

• Ability to manage multiple projects according to regulation standards with attention to detail, organization, and critical thinking skills.

• Demonstrates leadership in academic and clinical settings.

• Ability to work as a team player in a multi-cultural, diverse working environment

Minimum Education and Experience Requirement:

EDUCATION:

Associate’s Degree, or higher, in Nursing, Health Science, or another related field is required.

EXPERIENCE:

At least two (2) years of experience in the clinical healthcare setting.
