Job Description - Clinical Pharmacist

Jackson Pharmacy Professionals is currently hiring for full-time Clinical Pharmacist. This is an on site Account Management position managing the P&T commitment meetings and processes & rebate management. Our ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background, interested in a non-traditional environment & 4 years of clinical pharmacy experience. Apply today for consideration! MD license is required (dual licensure preferred).  Clinical Pharmacist  Position Summary and Details:

  • Full-time, 40hrs/week
  • $60 - $70/hr depending on experience 
  • 4-6 month contract with intent to hire permanent
  • P&T committee meetings and process, general government Rebate Management knowledge, Supplemental Rebate/PDL knowledge (Development, administration, and management of the PDL).

 

Clinical Pharmacist Responsibilities: 

  1. The day-to-day management and administration of the P&T Committee;
  2. Organizing, managing, and conducting the two annual P&T Committee meetings;
  3. Presenting clinical and cost information at all P&T Committee meetings;
  4. Facilitating each of the P&T Committee meetings in the review of the therapeutic classes, including new drugs/products or clinical criteria as approved by the FDA, and provide recommendations to the P&T Committee and the Department for appropriate changes to the PDL;
  5. Development, administration, and management of the PDL;
  6. Attending any event/meeting as required by the Department, including, but not limited to, each quarterly CMC Advisory Committee meeting and DUR Board meeting, and may be requested to present a status report of the PDL at any such event/meeting;
  7. May be required to visit prescribers or pharmacies at their place of business (not to exceed twenty [20] visits per year);
  8. Utilization management;
  9. Conduct data analytics and cost modeling;
  10. Be responsible for reviewing and making clinical decisions on prior- authorization requests within the Department;
  11. Work with the Department’s POS Vendor and the Department’s Pharmacy Team and shall be responsible for reviewing prior-authorizations, data analytics, research, etc.; and
  12. Other tasks as assigned by the Department.

 

Clinical Pharmacist Requirements: 

  • PharmD degree
  • Licensed Pharmacist by the Maryland Board of Pharmacy in good standing
  • Minimum 1 year of experience, preferably 4 years of experience in clinical pharmacy experience including P&T committee meetings 
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
