Job Description - Clinician for Teen Independent Living Homes

 

**Clinician for Teen Independent Living Homes in Flint & Lansing** 

 

We are seeking a full time CLINICIAN, who has a Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or related field, to provide individual and group therapy and assessments to teens in our Independent Living Homes in LANSING & FLINT with daily weekday travel required. This person-centric clinician serves as the admissions gatekeeper ensuring youth meet the program guideline criteria for acceptance, offering clinical direction and consultation to the youth's treatment team.

Wage range: $57,000 - $65,000 based on applicable experience. Role requires weekly travel to our Youth Homes in Lansing and Flint.

Provides individual and group therapy to youth in the ILP Home and offers clinical direction to the treatment team who work directly with the youth. Serves as the admissions gatekeeper ensuring youth meet the program guideline criteria for acceptance into the program.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  1. Provide a range of clinical interventions to individuals, families and group therapy using evidence-based treatment modalities
  2. Assist clients to clearly define presenting problems and devise goals and objectives to address the presenting problems
  3. Assist in the development and oversight of Life Skills curriculum for all youth
  4. Assume responsibility for intake, assessment (using assessment tool provided), clinical interventions, scheduling and billing
  5. Responsible for maintaining utilization at or above the budgeted number for the fiscal year by working with Central Support Departments and the Federation to market and staff the program
  6. Present each case to supervisor and clinical peer team as required for review of treatment plan and progress. Provide participants with reviews as requested, to document clinical progress on goals and redefine goals as needed
  7. Participate as a member of the clinical treatment team. Keep all members informed of case status and progress, provide oral and written reports, make recommendations about case goals for treatment and develop mutually agreeable treatment plans and/or behavioral planning
  8. Provide court testimony on clinical recommendations for clients served as required
  9. Maintain case record documentation for funding and regulatory bodies
  10. Prepare reports as needed for referral sources and participants, as outlined by contract and program. Provide appropriate referral for clients requiring additional or alternative services

Job Qualifications

 

Education, Training, and Licensure/Certification

 

  • Master degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or related field
  • Limited Licensed Professional Counselor, Temporary Limited License Psychologist, Limited Licensed Master Social Work, Licensed Professional Counselor, Limited Licensed Psychologist or Licensed Master Social Work. Full licensure preferred
  • National Provider Identifier (NPI) registry preferred
  • Council for Affordable Quality Healthcare (CAQH) credentialing preferred
  • Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) training preferred

 

Experience

 

  • Experience in clinical outpatient, residential, home based, community mental health or behavioral health setting preferred.
  • Experience working with diverse populations

 

Additional Work Requirements

 

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule with extended hours, as needed
  • Ability to travel to and provide clinical services in the community, family's home, and other offices within the organization, as appropriate
  • Reliable, ongoing, personal transportation
  • Valid unrestricted driver's license, good driving record, and valid auto insurance
