Communications Coordinator

Job Description

LaSalle Network has partnered with a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to providing shelter and safety to the community. They are looking for a Communications Coordinator for their Dallas office.   

As a Communications Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in effectively communicating the organization's mission, programs and services to various stakeholders, including clients, donors, volunteers, the media and the general public. The Communications Coordinator will work closely with the leadership team to ensure consistent and effective communication both internally and externally. 

Communicators Coordinator Responsibilities:  

• Develop and implement comprehensive communication plans to support the organization's goals and objectives 

• Manage the organization's digital presence, including website content, social media platforms and online campaigns 

• Create compelling content, including articles, blog posts, newsletters and press releases, to raise awareness about domestic violence issues and promote the shelter's programs and services 

• Cultivate relationships with media outlets, journalists and influencers to secure coverage and raise visibility for the organization 

• Coordinate and execute public relations campaigns, events and initiatives to engage the community and stakeholders 

Communications Coordinator Requirements:  

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in communications, public relations, or marketing, preferably in the nonprofit sector 

• Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft clear, compelling and persuasive content for various audiences and platforms 

• Proficiency in digital communication tools and platforms, including website CMS, social media management tools and email marketing platforms 

• Experience with media relations, including pitching stories, writing press releases and securing media coverage 

• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
