  • Work environment: Disease Registries
  • Work hours: Full Time; Monday through Friday; 8 am to 5 pm

Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth is an 815-bed, Magnet-designated regional referral center that has served the residents of Tarrant County and surroundings communities since 1930. Hospital services include cardiovascular care, high-risk obstetrics, gynecology, orthopedics and sports medicine, neonatal intensive care, and trauma/emergency medicine. Texas Health Fort Worth has a 75,000 square foot Emergency Services Center, one of the largest in the region and more than 4,000 employees, 200 volunteers and nearly 1,000 physicians on its medical staff. Texas Health Fort Worth received national recognition for its oncology program and was named “Best Place to Have a Baby” in Tarrant County. Education:

  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent Required.
  • Health Information Management or Cancer Registry schooling or experience Preferred.

Experience:

  • 1 year of office experience Preferred.

Skills

  • Usage of basic office equipment e.g. copier, fax.
  • Knowledge and usage of various business applications software e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel. Good verbal and written communications skills to include good telephone skills.
  • Basic Grammar and Spelling e.g. memos, e-mail.
  • Medical terminology and/or an understanding of anatomy/physiology Preferred.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for supplies management, purchasing, mail distribution, filing correspondence or documents, faxing, copying, and telephone management with timely follow-up activities.
  • Seeks appropriate resources for resolution.
  • Performs data entry into databases and/or time and labor.
  • Greets and acknowledges walk in customers immediately.
  • Provides appropriate and adequate resolution to meet customer service expectations.
  • Promptly notifies others of quest arrivals.
  • Responsible for maintaining various department schedules, mail, or visitor logs, or mailing lists.
  • Provides additional administrative or clerical assistance for events or projects.
  • Uses various word processing software applications e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook to manage calendars, schedule meetings, process forms, produce standard reports and correspondence.
  • May use specialty software applications specific to department.
  • Produces various receipts or forms as directed by management.
  • May provide various administrative clinic services e.g. charge capture, admissions, scheduling, insurance verification, and payment receipts if located in clinical area.
  • Other duties as assigned.
