Dietetic Technician Registered (DTR)- Part Time

1 day per week in a correctional facility.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be able to read, write and understand English. Must be in good mental and physical condition. Must possess good communication skills. Must be able to work productively with other members of the resident care team, dietary staff and residents. Must enjoy working with geriatric residents and understand their needs.

DUTIES:

• May visit residents to complete nutrition screen, initial, annual, quarterly nutritional assessments. Explains diets, records food preferences and promotes quality food service. Visits each resident at least one time per quarter. Documents visits. Initiates and/or completes documentation for residents at nutritional risk (renal, weight changes, pressure ulcers, tube feeding, etc.).
• Fills out MDS, CAAs, and care plans on a timely basis.
• Ensures that nutrition documentation complies with regulations.
• May completes nutritional discharge summaries.
• Assists in keeping resident food profile cards, tray cards, nourishment list updated.
• May provide diet instructions to residents and their families.
• Assists with Significant Weight Log. May be an Active member of the Wound / Weight Intervention and Nutrition Support Committee.
• Completes monthly QA reports and submits to Culinary Manager.
• May help with conducting monthly diet order audits, at least monthly.
• Communicates with Consultant RD and keeps RD Log current.
