Obtains moderately complex financial information regarding patients from various sources to obtain payment plan agreements and Medicare coverage

• Courteously and Professionally greets patients.
• Obtain accurate demographic insurance information. Correctly code and verify insurance coverage.
• Collect estimated patient responsibility or screen patient for assistance programs.
• Provide assistance to patients presenting or calling with billing questions.
• Process medical records requests.
• Train new staff.
• Prepare monthly paperwork for scanning.
• Prepare bank deposits.
• Audit patient charts for accuracy.
• Maintain consistent communication within the department.
• Conveys an image of dignity and trustworthiness
• Respects the rights, privacy and differences of others

Minimum:

• Six months of customer service experience in physician office or clinic. 
• High School Diploma/GED
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider (CT CPRBLS)
• Must have excellent communication abilities both written and verbal
• Must exhibit kindness and a willingness to help
