Actively screening for 100% Remote role for Lab Medical Transcriptionist to join top Research Hospital in GA! Description: Responsible for providing transcription support to a large, fast paced and heavy volume pathology department with 6 different healthcare locations, and 24 hour turnaround for our clients. Qualifications
- Six (6) months prior transcription or secretarial experience.
- Must have excellent knowledge of medical terminology, English grammar, composition, and spelling.
- Must have word processing experience, and ability to type sixty (60) words per minute
- Education – High School Diploma
Patient Demographics:
- Checking to ensure that patient’s name is correct.
- Checking to ensure that the part types are correct and there are no discrepancies.
- Notifying Histology personnel/Pathologist’s Assistants/Pathologists regarding correction of any
name/part-type discrepancies. Transcribing of reports:
- Transcription work related to pathology reports (both gross and microscopic description) to include:
- Gross description dictated by Pathologists Assistants or Pathologists on surgical reports, autopsies, cytologies, placentas, and bone marrow reports.
- Typing and expediting frozen section/touch prep gross dictations/frozen section/touch prep diagnoses dictated by Pathologists
- Muscle and kidney biopsies dictated by Pathologists Assistants or Pathologists
Additional Skills & Qualifications: - Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Completes transcription duties in a timely manner and produces the necessary quantity of work required.
- Produces high quality pathology reports.
