Position Summary

At STERIS, the Machinist's produce machined parts under close supervision by operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines. The position requires employees to maintain quality and safety standards, accurate time and record keeping, and demonstrate cleanliness and organization. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. This is a day shift position.

What You Will Do

•    Setup, operate and adjust machining equipment for basic complexity part production with supervision.
•    Monitors quality of parts produced utilizing basic metrology devices to ensure Customer requirements are met.
•    Abides by all Company safety and health policies and procedures.  
•    Must use personal protective equipment if required.  
•    Aware of and conforms to company ISO goals and objectives and supports company ISO requirements.
•    Aware of and actively participates in company’s Lean philosophy of continuous improvement.
•    Ensures measuring devices used to check product quality are calibrated prior to use.
•    Maintains in-process product identification.

Education Degree

  • High School Diploma or GED

Required Experience

  • 0-1 years’ related machining experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
