Medical Coder - Remote

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Coder to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately auditing and coding daily Evaluation & Management (E&M) visits, ensuring compliance with CPT, associated modifiers, and ICD-10 codes. Additionally, you will provide essential coding and billing education to our healthcare providers, research and resolve denied claims, and stay updated on payer policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will maintain a high level of coding accuracy and possess strong organizational and communication skills. Essential Functions and Duties: Audit and code daily E&M visits, ensuring accurate CPT and ICD-10 coding.
Extract information from operative reports, transcriptions, and other medical documents.
Provide coding and billing education and feedback to healthcare providers.
Research, correct, resubmit, and appeal denied claims.
Stay informed on standard and unique payer policies and procedures.
Maintain a coding accuracy rate of 90% or higher.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required.
AAPC or AHIMA certification (CPC, CCS-P) mandatory.
Minimum of 2 years of medical coding experience required.
Experience with Asthma, Allergy, and Colo-Rectal surgery a plus.
Ability to self-educate and demonstrated customer service skills essential.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Sedentary work, involving lifting up to 10 lbs.
Repetitive motion associated with operating a computer and other office equipment.
