Mental Health Counselor

Responsibilities: Provide compassionate and respectful care to all individuals under our support.
Engage in meaningful interactions with clients, fostering relationships and trust, while fulfilling tasks directly related to their care.
Regularly monitor clients according to their personalized care plans.
Demonstrate proficiency in understanding and implementing service and behavior plans.
Stay updated on clients' plans and case notes completed by fellow staff.
Encourage and oversee compliance with treatment plans.
Utilize crisis assessment tools for handling situations involving suicidal or aggressive behavior.
Identify individuals at risk of behavioral emergencies and suggest additional programming suited to their needs.
Be available to receive and handle crisis calls from clients, effectively diffusing and de-escalating any potential emergencies.
Assist residents with tasks such as room cleaning, personal hygiene, and laundry.
Support clients in acquiring independent living skills, including hygiene, housekeeping, and budgeting.
Administer medications following established procedures and guidelines under the supervision of the facility's nurse.
Monitor medication levels and initiate orders as necessary.
Collaborate in planning weekly menus and shopping lists, encouraging client participation.
Organize and oversee recreational and social activities, as well as holiday events.
Schedule client appointments and actively participate in staff meetings and treatment planning.
Prepare, serve, and maintain cleanliness according to health department standards.
Contribute to staff training and provide coverage as needed, ensuring the security and supervision of residents.
Engage in routine cleaning duties and light house maintenance.
Participate actively in team meetings and maintain regular work hours.
Transport clients within the community when required.
Prepare and distribute incident reports promptly when necessary.
Complete all paperwork, reports, and charting accurately and in a timely manner.
Actively pursue professional growth and development, maintaining professionalism and participating in supervision.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Physical Functions: Typing frequently.

Requirements: High School Diploma.
Must possess a car, auto insurance, and a valid driver's license.
Preferred: 2,000 hours of experience working with individuals with Mental Illness.
2,000 hours working in Corporate Adult Foster Care.
