Barrett Tree Service East is seeking a motivated seasonal Plant Healthcare Technician to work out of our Medford location. This position offers seasonal flexibility with full time employment from March – November. Barrett Tree Service East is a TCIA Accredited Tree Care Company, with offices in Medford and Newton Massachusetts. We are a rapidly growing, employee-owned company providing safe and high-quality professional tree care and lawncare services throughout Greater Boston.

The successful applicant will hold a current and valid MA pesticide license (or have the ability to obtain within a month of hire) along with an active driver’s license to join our company as a technician. This role will manage numerous accounts on various residential and commercial properties in the Boston metro area. Applicants must love working outdoors in all types of weather and have a passion for hard work, safety, and attention to detail. The ideal applicant will be self-directed and engaged in the strategic growth of the Plant Healthcare department and the company as a whole.

The position is year around (March - November in plant healthcare, November - March in general tree care) with a daily work schedule of 6:00 am – 3:00 pm with opportunities for unlimited professional growth. We seek reliable individuals with a strong work ethic to join our team. While we value and reward prior experience in arboriculture, we also take pride in offering extensive training and continuing education for all levels.

Prerequisites include:

• MA Pesticide applicator’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire date
• Current and valid driver’s license
• Must be physically able to perform the daily work demands of the job in accordance with standards set forth by management
• Must be able to read, write and interpret documents in the English language, e.g., work orders, safety rules, material safety data sheets (MSDS), operating repair, installation and procedure instruction manuals
• Pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check part of candidate selection process

Salary commensurate with experience. Starting at $21+/hour. Benefits include:
