We're seeking a Technical Accounting Manager to join our Finance team as we continue to expand. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with US GAAP and ASC-606, establish and scale new processes, thrive on enhancing processes continually, and collaborate effectively across departments. Reporting to the Director of Accounting, this role offers an exciting opportunity to drive technical accounting initiatives and contribute to our financial success. Essential Responsibilities:
- Lead technical accounting assessments for new contracts, applying relevant standards (such as ASC 606), and communicate findings to the Director of Accounting.
- Research and interpret complex accounting matters, providing guidance to internal stakeholders on the treatment of unique transactions like debt and equity financing.
- Offer support and guidance on technical accounting matters, including the implementation of new standards.
- Ensure accuracy in monthly financial close activities, meeting both internal and external reporting standards.
- Review or prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and related analyses for monthly financial reporting, maintaining proper documentation.
- Assist in implementing and documenting internal controls to safeguard financial integrity.
- Aid the Director of Accounting in financial statement preparation and audits, including footnote disclosures and related support.
- Provide support to global consolidations and international accounting team members.
- Effectively manage team members, offering support and coaching as needed.
- Assist with other special projects as assigned. Skills and Abilities:

- Enthusiasm for self-driving cars and their societal impact. Qualifications and Experience:
Successful candidates typically possess the following qualifications or equivalent experience:
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in corporate accounting/finance or public accounting.
- Active CPA license.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP.
- Extensive experience with ASC 606 revenue recognition.
- Proficiency in handling complex accounting topics such as debt and equity financing, stock compensation, and acquisitions/divestitures.
- Experience in drafting technical accounting memos.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Desirable:
- Master's Degree in Accounting.
- Experience in team management.
- Background in manufacturing/inventory management.
- Familiarity with fixed asset management and impairment analysis.
- Experience with global consolidations and various entity structures.
- Familiarity with Netsuite ERP or other ERP systems.
- Proficiency in using Google Suite. Physical Requirements:
This role is based remotely in Ann Arbor, MI, and involves standard office working conditions, including:
