Job Description - RESPIRATORY CARE PRACTITIONER II/Eligible for $, sign-on bonus

Summary:
The Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) 1 is an entry-level RCP. The RCP 1 demonstrates competencies in respiratory assessments and procedures for all patient populations and age groups. The RCP 1 performs and interacts as a healthcare professional administering respiratory care procedures in acute care and critical care areas. The RCP 1 demonstrates competency as outlined in the RCP I COT. The RCP 1 focuses on developing critical thinking skills. Under the direction of the Pulmonary Services Leadership team, provides professional respiratory care to patients in accordance with the hospital"s policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned. Responsibilities: Successful completion of all clinical rotations for respiratory therapy program is required. Associate Degree from a CoARC accredited Respiratory Care program is required. Bachelor degree preferred. State of Wisconsin license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner is required. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) is required within 12 months of hire. American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required within 6 months of hire. American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) is required within 6 months of hire (CHD only); Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) preferred (CHD only). American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) and Wisconsin Society for Respiratory Care (WSRC) membership is preferred. Advanced certification with crisis de-escalation (MANDT), Hospital HazMat, or special pathogens is preferred.

RESPIRATORY CARE PRACTITIONER II Summary: The Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) 2 is highly proficient in the management and delivery of respiratory care. Demonstrates competencies in respiratory assessments and procedures for all patient populations and age groups. Performs and interacts as a healthcare professional administering respiratory care procedures acute care areas and critical care areas. Demonstrates critical thinking skills and the mastery of clinical skills outlined in the RCP 2 COT. Precepts students on rotation. Exhibits leadership skills and is able to act as lead therapist as needed. Under the direction of the Pulmonary Services Leadership team, provides professional respiratory care to patients in accordance with the hospital"s policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned. Responsibilities: Minimum of 1 year of experience plus the ability to show RCP II competency within 6 months of hire/transfer into role is required. 3+ years of experience in a hospital setting providing respiratory care is preferred. Associate degree from a CoARC accredited Respiratory Care program is required. Bachelor"s degree is preferred. State of Wisconsin license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner is required; Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) is required. For incumbents in this role prior to 7/1/21, the Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) will be accepted in lieu of the RRT. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required.& American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required. American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) is required within 6 months of hire (CHD only). LICENSURE PREFERRED: Advanced specialty credential from the NBRC or Asthma Educator Certification(AE-C) from the National Asthma Educator Certification Board (NAECB) is preferred. Apply with Get.It
