Responsibilities

  • Competent delivery of all Respiratory Care procedures as outlined in the department policy and procedure manual.

  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation of all Respiratory Care procedures per department policy and procedures.

  • Verify Respiratory Care physicians orders. Initial, date, and time order after verification.

  • Receive and give accurate and complete report. Update and complete patient profile card to reflect patient's current clinical status. Be prepared and ready to receive/give report at the specified report times.

  • Attend and participate in department in-services, meetings, patient care rounds, and mandatory hospital meetings.

  • Keep Supervisor appraised of changes in work load and patient acuity.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested

Qualifications

Required Education: Graduation from a two-year AMA-approved School for Respiratory Care, passing score on the NBRC entry level examination

Required Licensure and Certifications: Must possess a valid Oregon respiratory care license. Must have current CPR certification, which is renewed annually.ACLS is preferred.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :Skills to work independently are essential. Ability to speak and write proficiently in English is essential. Ability to apply technical/professional knowledge as appropriate. High degree of accuracy is required. Analytic and clerical abilities are necessary to effectively provide patient care and safety. A comprehensive knowledge of the therapeutic and diagnostic procedures is essential
