Job Description - Senior Manager, Knowledge & Learning

Learn more at The Senior Manager, Knowledge & Learning will oversee and execute key learning initiatives and programs to create foundational knowledge among J&J colleagues of the policy environment and the power of WWGA&P to help shape government policies. Reporting to the Senior Director, Public Policy & Issues Management (PPIM), Global Policy, the individual will manage the portfolio supporting this work. The individual will also engage and consult with multiple partners within WWGA&P, functional experts, and enterprise teams to ensure delivery of high-quality content, curated global subject matter knowledge and resources, and impactful programming that elevates WWGA&P and J&J knowledge and understanding of the unique value of public policy and WWGA&P's priorities. The individual also partners to develop and deliver engaging campaigns to bring these assets to life across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and drive internal knowledge and insight strategies, tools, and innovations to support WWGA&P priority initiatives and elevate institutional knowledge.
  • Own the WWGA&P knowledge management and learning strategy in partnership with the PPIM leader and manage internal and external suppliers to deliver best-in-class knowledge, insights, and learning offerings.
  • Drive key WWGA&P learning programs, such as US Health Policy Excellence (HPx), a certificate program in partnership with Rutgers University.
  • Partner across functions to provide program leadership, refine processes, ensure robust measurement, and deliver operational excellence for key tools, assets, and programs.
  • Conduct annual needs analyses to drive best-in-class offerings and impactful outcomes, in partnership with key internal partners.
  • Oversee digital knowledge platforms and ensure strong processes for managing, disseminating, and retaining business-critical knowledge to generate insights and curate an engaging knowledge environment. This includes scoping, partnering, and developing robust plans and flawless execution of highly engaging tools that elevate knowledge internally and support external advocacy, including editorial and technical oversight, content development and management, strong content governance, and dissemination. These tools include the WWGA&P page on Home and associated knowledge SharePoint, Quorum, and others.
  • Manage contractor and vendor resources to define project scope, objectives and deliverables, vetting materials and serving as project manager;
  • Work with internal partners such as Corporate Business Technology to ensure a strong governance and archive processes, according to enterprise guidelines and WWGA&P processes.
  • Remain current with knowledge and insights innovations, methods, and techniques to remain impactful and competitive.
Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Advanced degree (eg, MPH, MPA, MPP, MBA, JD, MLS, MS Communication) preferred.
Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience required, preferably in government affairs, communications, public affairs or policy-related field, or in a learning and development function.
  • Exceptional track record of project management and written communication required.
  • Ability to identify issues and present recommendations to a variety of audiences and across a global organization.
  • Curiosity and expertise to challenge the status quo to identify ways of doing things better and more effectively, proactively identifying issues and challenges and offering novel solutions and recommendations.
  • Ability to work effectively with or without established procedure and conduct programs and activities with moderate independence and autonomy.
  • Skilled at managing multiple projects, including some complex, at the same time.
Other:

  • Minimal travel required, approximately 5% (primarily domestic).
The base pay range for this position is $118,000-$203,550. The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.
