The Service & Repair Technician is responsible for the troubleshooting, service, repair, and maintenance of mechanical medical devices and equipment in the most efficient manner and adhering to established quality standards. This person may work with the site engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams, including the complaint department to perform product failure evaluations and diagnostics. The individual will also be responsible for complying with all local and global policies and procedures.
Must be able to work independently as well as under direct supervision.
Document all service activities in Oracle
Must be able to safely and properly use and operate repair tooling and test equipment.
Complete repair of all customer products within designated repair cycle times.
Perform & execute all repairs in accordance with training, local and global SOP’s
Perform other duties as required by the business.
Strive to maintain a safe work environment in accordance with regulations
Willingness to work in a team environment
Constantly seek ways to improve the Customer Support processes
Manage assigned work and repair priorities
Collaborate and work with other functions on product / repair complaints – Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality
Promptly complete all required service and repair documentation or Oracle entries during the repair process and in an accurate and efficient manner.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or at least two (2) year degree Biomedical equipment repair Preferred
Associate Degree or Certification from a technical / trade school
2 years electro-mechanical repair on medical equipment preferred.
Machinery shop experience or related technical repair work experience will be considered
Demonstrated electro-mechanical technical / troubleshooting aptitude
Computer skills required
Excellent communication skills – verbal & written
Solid computer skills; Oracle skills a plus
Experience in the medical field a plus
Ability to work in team environment / service environment required
