Your Responsibilities

As a  Software Engineer for the John Deere Customer Proactive Services division, located in Chicago , IL , you will be a member of a delivery scrum team and work with multiple stakeholders to build and implement solutions improve capability, reliability and efficiency of controller reprogramming as part of the Service ADVISOR product. In addition, you will.  

• Develop and continually improve high-quality front-end code in a web-based product.
• Evaluate and implements enhancements to the frontend developer toolset. 
• Coach and pair with delivery team software engineers on adoption and implementation.
• Mentor other software engineers within the team and across multiple products. 
• Regularly work with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Bootstrap, etc.   
• Lead engineering practices.
• Analyzing medium to high complexity requests and helps in formulating plans for execution.
• Provides production support of the product.

What Skills You Need

• 1+ years of development experience as Intern, ITDP in IT software development. 
• Some experience with Java programming and web development.
• Exposure with tools such as GitHub, AWS, Jenkins, Node, CI/CD.
• Agile/Scrum experience including the ability to execute independent stories with some direction.
• Demonstrated ability to create high-quality front-end code for consumption and reusability.
• Hands-on Test-Driven Development (TDD) or Behavioral Driven Development work.

What Makes You Stand Out

• Some experience with Java programming and web development.
• Exposure with tools such as GitHub, AWS, Jenkins, Node, CI/CD.
• Agile/Scrum experience including the ability to execute independent stories with some direction.

Education Details

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

• Bachelor's Degree (Information Technology, Computer Science, Digital Design).
