Job Title: Part-time Travel Nursing Instructor (NA-1, CNA-2, Medication Aide) Are you passionate about training the next generation of healthcare providers? We have an exciting opportunity for a Part-time Travel Nursing Instructor to join our team and make a significant impact in the medical field. About the Role: As a Travel Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality training programs for Nursing Assistants (NA-1), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA-2), and Medication Aides. You will be teaching diverse groups of students, including pre-nursing students, English language learners, and individuals from various backgrounds. Your role will be instrumental in shaping the future of healthcare by imparting essential knowledge and skills to your students. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct interactive classroom lectures, facilitate discussions, and present curriculum materials using PowerPoint presentations and videos.
- Demonstrate nursing skills in lab settings, provide scenarios for students to practice, and coach them through the skill steps to prepare them for the state board exam.
- Assign duties and skills for students to practice during clinical rotations, observe and sign off on their skills, and seamlessly collaborate with facility staff.
- Maintain a professional and supportive learning environment, enforcing school policies, counseling students when necessary, and referring disciplinary matters to the Program Director.
- Complete all required documentation, including attendance records, skill assessments, and student evaluations.
- Offer professional insights and guidance to students, fostering a passion for the nursing profession and quality patient care. Qualifications and Requirements: - Current and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oregon.
- Minimum of one year of full-time nursing experience, preferably in long-term care or skilled nursing facilities (as per OSBN regulations).
- Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant instructor or training adults in a formal educational setting is highly preferred.
- If you lack formal classroom teaching experience, you must complete an online Train-the-Trainer program (approximately 4-5 hours) and obtain the certificate for OSBN approval.
- Strong understanding of the Certified Nursing Assistant's role, authorized duties, and relevant nursing regulations.
- Ability to work collaboratively and meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Proficiency in using computers and navigating through PC software.
- Capability to sit or stand in a classroom setting for 6-8 hours.
