Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a full-time Virtual Behavioral Health Counselor to join our esteemed Virtual Services department. In this role, you will work during night hours (9:00 PM - 7:00 AM) to provide crucial support in crisis assessments across 17 emergency departments and various inpatient units. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting real-time crisis assessments, developing safety plans, coordinating outpatient resources, and facilitating inpatient placements for eligible patients. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with hospital staff, community partners, parents, and relevant agencies to ensure comprehensive care and support for patients in need.

Responsibilities:
-Facilitate patient involvement in treatment and education processes
-Conduct individual, group, and family counseling sessions
-Perform utilization review and discharge planning activities
-Collaborate effectively with healthcare team members to ensure timely and safe delivery of services
-Assess psychosocial risk factors and provide appropriate counseling and intervention
-Counsel patients and families on emotional, social, and financial aspects of illness or disability
-Provide mental health assessments and therapeutic interventions as needed
-Act as a liaison and relevant protective services and community agencies
-Intervene in cases of child abuse/neglect, adult/elderly abuse/neglect, and domestic violence
-Assist in guardianship, foster care, adoption, and mental health level II placements
Qualifications:
-Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field
-Current licensure or license eligibility in the state of Indiana as an HSPP, LMFT, LCSW, or LMHC
-CPI (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention) certification may be required
-Clinical licensure preferred
-Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
-Relevant experience in healthcare, mental health, or community-based settings
-Strong understanding of growth and development principles across the lifespan
-Knowledge of state and county legal mandates related to adult and child protective services
-Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with various stakeholders
