Overview:

As part of our accounting department, the ideal part-time candidate will ensure all financial transactions are accurate, coordinating with the accounting team, in order to achieve the goals of the hotel and the company. 

Successful candidates in this role are able to work independently, self-motivated, extremely detail oriented and enjoys resolving problems. Additionally, this person is a team player that will gladly jump in and assist the accounting team in other important task when needed.

Key Duties:

  • Will assist the Accounting Manager with the accounts payable process including invoice entry, reconciling vendor statements, and vendor communication.
  • Will assist the Accounting Supervisor in cash handling, cash counts, house bank counts, and bank deposits.
  • Assist in the research and respond to chargebacks.
  • Assist in processing the daily income audit.
  • Analyzes invoice/expense reports and records entries to charge expenses to accounts and cost centers.
  • Monitors discount opportunities, verifies federal identification numbers, schedules and prepares checks, and resolves purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation.
  • Ensures that credit for outstanding memos is received.
Qualifications:

Key Requirements:

  • Thorough understanding of the financial accounting process.
  • Minimum Two years of experience in accounting position and/or similar role is required.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, familiar with internet page browsing and extraction of data to conduct complete internet research.
  • Able to multitask, work under pressure, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to manage time and energy in an efficient, effective, and organized manner.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required; able to effectively communicate in the English language.
  • The flexibility to work overtime and/or weekends if needed.
  • Ability to maintain strict adherence to confidentiality requirements and follow all company policies and procedures accordingly.
  • High School Diploma, Post-Secondary education preferred but not required.
