What You Will Be Doing:

• Direct and manage all activities related to the Banquet department, ensuring all service standards are followed
• Work closely with Catering and Conference Service team to execute on client needs, expectations, and timelines
• Attend regular meetings to discuss Banquet Event Orders and event forecasts
• Ensure all functions make a positive visual impact and unforgettable guest experience; including ambiance, décor and service delivery
• Focus on guest satisfaction scores (Voice of the Guest / Meeting Planner) in all duties and interactions
• Attend pre-conference meetings with clients to confirm all relevant details are communicated
• Assume responsibility for all banquet facilities, including cleanliness, repair and maintenance, reporting any deficiencies as required
• Follow the annual budget and administer it in a fiscally responsible manner
• Ensure all financial reporting is maintained and accurate billing for each banquet function is recorded
• Coach and train the Banquet team in all aspects of the department
• Oversee and enforce departmental standards, performance, dress code, appearance, sanitation, etc., according to established policies and CBA guidelines
• Responsible for producing employee schedules based on forecast, labor standard and CBA guidelines
• Generate  bi-weekly departmental payroll
• Partner with Talent & Culture to manage interviewing, colleague evaluations, disciplines, and terminations
• Conduct regular departmental meetings
• Responsible for employee engagement score and follow-up action plans to focus on improvement year over year
• Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
• Respond and resolve all guest complaints in a timely manner
• Have an active floor presence with hands on management of functions and colleagues
• Balance operational, administrative and Colleague needs
• Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
• Other duties as assigned

Your Experience and Skills Include:

• Previous leadership experience in Banquets, Events, or similar Food and Beverage role required
• Understanding of CBAs preferred
• University/College degree in a related discipline preferred
• Skilled in Microsoft Office applications is required
• Experience with OPERA PMS advantageous  
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
• Highly responsible & reliable
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
• Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
• Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

• Constant standing and walking throughout shifts.
• May occasionally exert up to 50 pounds lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
• Exerting up to ten pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry push, pull or otherwise move objects, and long hours sometimes may be required.
