About the Job:
The Cincinnati Downtown Hotel is looking for an F&B supervisor/manager with possibility of Banquets experience to join our team. Vintage styling meets contemporary luxury at the Cincinnati Downtown Hotel. Our classic wedding venue offers a variety of exquisite event spaces.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for maintaining high energy, and a positive, professional appearance.
- Responsible for short and long-term banquet functions in the front and back of the house.
- Responsible for proactively reviewing staffing and equipment needs.
- Ability to develop ideas for special events and holiday functions.
- Responsible for ensuring coordination and execution of all restaurant and bar events with Culinary, Stewarding, Catering/CS, CS Floor, and Beverage.
- Evaluating and pre-planning, being prepared for large groups and special functions including holidays.
- Hire staff, discipline staff, evaluate their performance, and document all aspects of their employment.
- Oversee maintenance of all banquet equipment, function spaces, and cleanliness of all banquet areas.
- Training programs both group and individual stress service, safety, and product knowledge.
- Bi-monthly payroll including tip pool breakdown done accurately and on time.
- Coordinate Supervisors and House Attendants with banquet needs such as food, banquet equipment, tables, chairs, etc.
- Responsible for developing innovative and creative decor for the Banquet function space.
- Staff functions for optimum labor costs and maximum service. Write accurate schedules within designated staffing guidelines.
- Maintain theme prop inventories and maintenance as well as any other equipment needs such as linen.
Requirements:
- Hotel experience and a thorough understanding of all levels of banquet service.
- A minimum of 2 years experience as hotel f&b supervisor or manager position or 3 years as an Assistant is required.
- Full-Time Management Position that requires full flexibility, including the ability to work weekends and holidays and a varied schedule.
- Requires 2 or more years of hospitality management experience.
- A true desire to understand and anticipate the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be proficient in general computer knowledge.
- Refined verbal and written communication skills.
- Candidates should be extremely creative, innovative, detail-oriented, and organized.
- Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Must have a flexible schedule to include nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Banquet or Event experience required.
- Minimum of two years experience in Banquet and F&B experience preferably in a 4 or 5-diamond hotel or convention hotel.
- Able to utilize payroll systems, good knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing programs.
