Job Description - Internal Events Manager

The Internal Events Manager is an integral part of Latham’s Events team and will be responsible for planning and managing firm events and meeting programs , while discussing objectives for events with management and using their expertise to make recommendations for appropriate events. This role will be located in either our New Yor, Chicago or Houston office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.

Other key responsibilities include:

 

  • Oversees the budget process to properly form and create standardized financial documents for all assigned event projects
  • Manages end-to-end requirements for meetings or meeting sub-events as assigned; this may include identifying service providers and accommodations, transportation, location, catering, signage, displays, and any special needs requirements
  • Manages the preparation and distribution of handouts and meeting collateral; creates and maintains meeting agendas, planning checklists, and adhere to deadlines
  • Acts as the primary contact with hotel for assigned events and secures appropriate meeting space and room blocks.
  • Researches and recommends event locations, hotels, vendors, and other event contacts for both current and future events

  • Demonstrate well-developed and professional interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm
  • Display the ability to work in a team environment with a customer-service focus
  • Possess organizational skills needed to manage time well, prioritize effectively, and handle multiple deadlines

 

And have:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • A minimum of seven years’ relevant experience at a professional services organization
