12 Month Position Details: Summary of Duties: With minimal guidance from Program leadership, the incumbent will lead and manage the administrative day to day operations of the Othello Honey Bee Research Facility. This role is tasked with scheduling space used for events, meetings, and workshops. The Front Desk Assistant will represent the WSU Bee Program's goals through communication with stakeholders, project support, and event staffing. The role will work to increase the success of the program at the local, regional, and national levels; working alongside various colleagues, the role supports the mission of the program. This position manages the day-to-day administrative operations, responding to emails and phone calls. Incumbent supports scheduling for events, meetings, and workshops at the Othello Facility, and tracks and manages program income from Othello Assist with the dissemination of communications materials for scientific and public audiences. Reserves hotel blocks and provide travel guidance for incoming event guests. Procures on-site needs to support events, including printed materials, refreshments etc. Reserves and coordinates with local catering and service companies for delivery of food, tables, chairs, linens. Coordinates with Othello Farm Manager to support farm staff based on facility needs. Assists with fiscal management of the program. Tracks purchases made based on facility needs and operations requirements and assists Entomology Budget/Finance manager with forecasting program income from room rentals and honey sales. Maintains records of donations made to program and develops donation incentives and tiers to acknowledge high dollar donors to the program. Required Qualifications:
- High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of experience in the program specialty OR equivalent education/experience.
- Strong computer skills including demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft 365 software, Google Workspace, Internet, and email.
- Experience in developing, maintaining, and/or using computerized record systems and information management.
Preferred Qualifications: - Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Professional working experience in a higher education environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent editing/proofreading skills.

Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28 .
