Job Description - Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting

Vantage’s latest airport terminal project is the $4.2B development of a new world class international Terminal 6 at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), now underway. The Vantage-led team at JFK Millennium Partners is developing Terminal 6 in two phases, with the first gates opening in 2026 and construction completion in 2028. This new, 1.2 million square foot international terminal on the north side of JFK will feel like a boutique luxury hotel, featuring bright and airy check-in and arrivals areas, NYC-inspired shopping, dining and amenities, premium lounges, and generous seating areas. The redevelopment will transform the guest experience at Terminal 6 while offering numerous opportunities for minority, women-owned (MWBE), service-disabled, veteran-owned (SDVOB) and local business enterprises (LBEs).  

Job Summary

 

Reporting to the Director, Accounting and Financial Reporting, the Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting is responsible for the oversight of the corporate accounting operations for the organization by ensuring accurate and timely accounting, reporting, and analysis. Responsibilities include providing guidance and oversight to the accounting team by effectively managing day-to-day accounting and month-end close activities, as well as providing corporate stakeholders with timely, accurate, and meaningful financial reporting and analysis.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate activities across the accounting function.
  • Review and supervise monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts including bank reconciliations.  
  • Lead closing of financial records on a monthly basis and in a timely manner.  
  • Prepare monthly Indirect Cost Recovery Calculation and Revenue Recognition and submit for approval.  
  • Lead development of accounting department annual budget and provide support to the other budget managers as needed.  
  • Monitor and review general ledger account reconciliations to ensure accounts are reconciled in an accurate and timely manner.  
  • Participate in review/updates to the Financial/Accounting procedure manual.  
  • Participate in the preparation of monthly financial statements for management review to include income statement, balance sheet and supporting schedules.  
  • Assist as needed with the monthly shareholder’s report related to both Corporate and Network sites on a monthly and annual basis.  
  • Development of the accounting team.  
  • Participate in the annual Group Audit process while serving as a liaison to external auditors and preparing detailed reports on audit requests.  
  • Participate in the annual Network Audit processes, ensuring adherence to timelines and collaborating with site level finance teams to ensure successful Audit completion.  
  • Establish, maintain and strengthen internal and external relationships.  
  • Ensure compliance with all laws and regulations that apply to the organization. 
  • Other duties and responsibilities commensurate with the position may be assigned from time to time.

Primary Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field.
  • At least 15 years experience in the field preferably with at least 3 years of supervisory experience.  
  • Experience working within a regulated business or industry field.
  • CPA designation.
  • High level of attention to detail.  
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels of the organization.  
  • Organization and planning skills crucial for multi-tasking while prioritizing and executing tasks.  
  • Experience working with and setting up an accounting software package.  
  • Highly skilled in using MS Excel spreadsheets.  
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately work with large amounts of financial and accounting data.
