Job Description - Server Assistant (Busser)

Server Assistant (Busser) Location Macon, GA : We're looking for enthusiastic, fun, and energetic people who take the work seriously, but not themselves. Let's see if we're a fit. We hope so. Overview of the role: Join our team as a Server Assistant at Mainsail Lodging & Development, an award-winning franchisee of the Marriott Autograph Collection. In this role, you will be instrumental in providing an outstanding dining experience. Your responsibilities include warmly greeting guests, serving them with professionalism and grace, and maintaining the highest standards of service. You will play a key role in upholding the exceptional service standards of the Marriott Autograph Collection, ensuring that every guest enjoys a memorable and high-quality dining experience. About Mainsail/Hotel Story/Brand Story: Insert the Brand Story Here What you have: Education & Experience:
  • High School diploma or equivalent; higher education preferred.
  • Prior experience in hospitality or serving roles is advantageous, with a minimum of one year in positions such as Server Assistant, Backwater, or Food Runner.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficient in using technology, such as tablets, for service-related tasks.
  • What you'll do:
    • Proficient knowledge of all beverages, including liquors and wines.
    • Efficient and courteous service to guests, following service standards.
    • Accurate cash handling and accountability for financial discrepancies.
    • Comfortable with delivering food and drinks to guest rooms.
    • Punctuality and proper uniform compliance.
    • Team collaboration within the hotel.
    • Cleanliness and organization of serving areas.
    • Preparing tables with necessary service items.
    • Equipped with essential tools for the shift.
    • Ability to recommend wine pairings with meals.
    • Comprehensive understanding of menu items and allergens.
    • Assisting servers with food and beverage service.
    • Prompt clearing and resetting of tables.
    • Setup and breakdown of dining areas.
    • Support during peak service times.
    • Adherence to health and safety regulations.
    • Inventory management and supply stocking.
    • Effective communication with kitchen staff.
    • Handling guest requests efficiently.
    • Participation in training for service improvement.
    • Knowledge of restaurant promotions and events.
    • Flexibility to perform additional tasks as assigned.
    Physical and Mental Demands:
    • Ability to stand for extended periods, often in a potentially hot area under a heat lamp.
    • Ability to walk and bend.
    • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
    • Clear communication skills.
    • Corrected vision within normal range.
    • Willingness to work long hours as required.
    • Ability to make sound judgments quickly.
    • Capability to work on multiple tasks, making appropriate progress towards deadlines.
    • Ability to work independently, take direction, and provide direction to others.
    • Skills to manage different personalities within the office, hotel, and community.
    • Commitment to maintaining the highest degree of confidentiality.
