Job Description - Accounting-Payroll Specialist

Payroll – Accounting Specialist

Location: Detroit, MI

Pay Rate: $20-25/hour

Schedule: Full Time, Monday-Friday (100% onsite)

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Kelly Services has partnered with a local social services agency to find a Payroll – Accounting Specialist to join their team. In business over 20 years, our client provides food, housing, job programs and more to members of the community. The Payroll-Accounting Specialist is responsible for overseeing the agency’s day-to-day accounting and financial activities. Apply today for immediate consideration!

*JOB RESPONSIBLITIES: *

  • Review all bank account activity on a daily basis.

  • Manage payroll for 100 employees, including both hourly and salaried staff in accordance with state and federal laws.

  • Maintain payroll information relating to deductions, garnishments, etc. in accordance with the Human Resources department.

  • Process benefits enrollments, in accordance with state and federal laws including the ACA, in coordination with the Human Resource Department.

  • Review and code all income; including bank deposits, credit card transactions, income from online sites (PayPal, Shopify, Stripe, etc.) and coordinate with other staff and volunteers to ensure all donations are properly recorded to allow correct acknowledgements to be sent to donors.

  • Review, code, and approve all invoices and check requests, ensuring expenditures are appropriate and proper authorizations are obtained.

  • Make all entries in DoorLoop software for Tiny Homes residents.

  • Prepare DoorLoop reports for management and rent deposit reports for the volunteer accountant.

  • Work with the Property Manager to ensure correct entries are made in DoorLoop for PSH residents.

  • Prepare and provide all documents and spreadsheets for the annual workers compensation audit.

  • Annually, reconcile vehicle records from staff, insurance policy, and outsourced accountant.

*QUALIFICATIONS: *

  • High school diploma required; degree preferred.

  • Previous experience with ADP preferred.

  • Accounting background preferred.
