Position Details Academic Personnel School / Campus / College: School of Medicine Organization: Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences Title: Assistant Professor WOT - Psychiatrist, Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences Psychiatrist The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is seeking candidates for one full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor without tenure by reason of funding in either the clinician-teacher or faculty-scientist pathway. Assistant Professors are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research/scholarship, and service. Job Duties Will serve primarily as attending psychiatrist at Harborview Medical Center and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center Will provide on-call services as an attending...equivalent to other full-time faculty. Where appropriate and in conjuction with clinical activities, teach and supervise trainees May have other responsibilities as assigned by the Chair by mutual agreement. Our educational programs include a required medical student clerkship for 260 medical students per year at some 30 sites across the WWAMI region, a nationally competitive psychiatry residency program with more than 90 psychiatry residents in Seattle and in two regional residency tracks in Idaho and Montana, subspecialty fellowships in addiction, child and adolescent, consultation- liaison, perinatal mental health and geriatric psychiatry, a nationally renowned scientist-practitioner psychology internship program, and numerous post-doctoral clinical and research fellowships. Learn more: Salary The base salary range for this position will be commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. The base salary range for an Assistant Professor WOT position will be $16,667 - $19,584 per month ($200,004 - $240,008 annually). Additional compensation associated with this position may include temporary salary supplement (TPS) and/or incentive payments through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan.

Qualifications

An M.D. or D.O. or foreign equivalent, current medical licensure, and eligibility for a Washington State medical license. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services
