Job Description - Behavioral Health Human Resource Manager

Job Title: Behavioral Health Human Resources Manager.

Job Summary:

Responsible for providing a wide range of HR support services, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field or the equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in human resources, with a strong understanding of HR laws and regulations.
  • Proven work experience as an HR Specialist or HR Generalist.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Good understanding of the full recruitment process.
  • Solid problem-solving and team management abilities.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.
  • Proficient in Behavioral Health Compliance.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the recruitment and selection process, including job postings, candidate sourcing, interviewing, and reference checking.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws related to Behavioral Health practices, employment and HR practices.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on employee relations issues, including performance management, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and ensure data integrity in the HR information system; maintain organizational charts and detailed job descriptions along with salary records.
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures to support the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Implement training and development plans; plan annual performance review sessions.
  • Conduct employee onboarding and orientation sessions to ensure a smooth transition for new hires.
  • Manage employee off-boarding, including conducting exit interviews and ensuring compliance with all legal requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in human resources to ensure the organization remains competitive in attracting and retaining top talent.
  • Update employee records with new hire information and/or changes in employment status.
  • Forecast hiring needs and ensure recruitment processes run smoothly.
