Director of Labor Relations Location: Los Angeles, CA Salary: $234,200-$249,400/annually
Job seniority: director level and above
Responsibilities
• Plan, direct, administer, and coordinate labor negotiations for bargaining units • Act as lead negotiator for the District and represent District positions in collective bargaining • Develop and implement long-term labor plans and goals • Provide advisement and assist with interpretation and implementation of labor contracts • Conduct meetings between District and labor union representatives • Advise Board members on labor strategy and proposals • Select, lead, and evaluate the District's collective bargaining team • Serve as the primary advisor in employer-employee relations matters • Report latest trends and developments in the field • Make regular reports to Senior Leadership and Board of Education
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred) in relevant field • 5 years of experience in professional personnel administration or equivalent • 3 years of experience in labor relations duties and negotiations • Management responsibility overseeing multiple projects • OR 6 years of experience with a large, complex organization in labor negotiations • Knowledge of labor law and familiarity with Public Employment Relations Board • Authorization to practice law in California preferred • Valid California Driver License • Full COVID-19 vaccination required
