We are WAGI WAGI is seeking a full-time Endoscopy Technician join our Tacoma Endoscopy Center! The Endoscopy Technician is responsible for the care of technical equipment and accessories used in patient care.


Responsibilities:

  • Processes equipment with care to prevent damage and to maintain quality and prolong usefulness.
  • Monitors disinfection concentration effectiveness twice daily and documents findings, changing solutions immediately should test fail.
  • Documents and maintains all logbooks.
  • Maintains automatic scope washer, changing solutions and filters per policy.
  • Assembles specific procedures trays and equipment, sets up equipment in the procedure room as requested.
  • Transports soiled equipment from the procedure room to decontamination area.
  • Adheres to Universal Precautions when cleaning and disinfecting endoscopes and accessories, as well as when changing disinfection solutions.
  • Reports equipment malfunctions to Charge Nurse and/or Nurse Manager.
  • Assists with patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • Assists with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Reads appropriate literature to stay current with cleaning and disinfection processes and changes.
  • Demonstrates customer service by introducing self, communicating clearly, and sensitive to an individual’s concerns and/or questions.
Qualifications:
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Surgery Tech education preferred
  • Certified Nurse Assistant or Medical Assistant Certification/License
  • Previous experience as an Endoscopy Technician preferred
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • Previous experience working with bio-hazardous materials and chemicals
  • As a healthcare organization, the candidate must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Physical Activities and Requirements
  • Occasional travel may be required to other local locations on an as-needed basis to back-fill for vacations, etc.
  • Ability to stand and walk throughout the day, up to 10 hours per day
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and performing administrative duties including the use of computers
  • Ability to bend, twist, stoop, and reach
  • Able to lift and carry supplies and equipment as needed (up to 25 pounds)
Compensation and Benefits
  • Employees (and their families) who work full time (defined as working 30 or more hours per week) will be eligible for medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, accidental death and dismemberment, and basic life insurance .
  • In addition, employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401(k) plan which includes a company provided safe harbor contribution of 3% of annual earnings and the potential for a company discretionary profit-sharing contribution.
  • All employees will be eligible to accrue PTO at a rate of .04 hours per payroll hour (1.6 hours for a 40-hour week) which can be used for and exceeds the required mandatory WA State and other local ordinances. In addition, full time employees will be eligible for a Vacation accrual with a maximum annual accrual of 77 hours as a new hire. WAGI has 8 standard Holidays each year for which full time employees are eligible to receive paid holiday. In addition, full time employees will be given 1 Float Holiday each year that they can schedule.
  • This is an Hourly position, and the anticipated Compensation range is $20.40-$26.40. The hired applicant is also eligible for annual discretionary bonuses.
