The Department of Water Resources’ South Central Region Office is offering an exciting opportunity to join our talented team! If you are a creative thinker, self-motivated, and interested in river restoration and river hydraulics, hydrology, and geomorphology, then this Engineer, Water Resources position could be right for you! Under the direction of the Senior Engineer, Water Resources, the successful candidate will perform a variety of engineering tasks and assignments, including conducting studies and investigations, gathering resources data, preparing reports and design documents, and assisting with the implementation of projects related to water resources fields. The majority of the candidate's responsibilities will be related to riverine and habitat restoration on the San Joaquin River System, but will also support other activities of the River Restoration Section, within the River Investigations Branch.

Our ideal candidate will have a strong interest in rivers, habitat restoration and enhancement, flood management, and the evaluation, development, design, and implementation of these types of projects. We are seeking a highly motivated candidate with effective oral and written communication skills, broad computer skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks, the ability to work effectively with others in a team environment, and the knowledge of water-related engineering principles. Experience with hydraulic, hydrologic, and drafting software are a plus!
