Our Client is the largest privately owned shipyard in Hawaii, with two of the largest dry docks in the state. Our client has been in business since 1944 and have a large labor force of skilled craftsman with a full support staff of professionals who comprise of engineering, project management, QA, EHS, accounting, contracts, and human resources.

Job Summary   

We are seeking an Estimator/Planner to join the Estimating Department. The Estimator/Planner is responsible for developing cost estimates to support our ongoing ship repair contracts with DoD and commercial customers. The Estimator/Planner works closely with all departments to identify the amount of material and manpower needed to perform ship repair availabilities. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment

• Prepare comprehensive cost estimates and technical proposals.
• Ability to read detailed drawings, specifications, and technical manuals.
• Engage in PSI’s collaborative estimating process and bid reviews.
• Attend ship checks.
• Participate in business development.
• Strong team player with on-site work hours required.

Skills Required

• Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience, preferably in marine or industrial industry.
• Shipyard experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Navy ships is beneficial.
• Former Navy military personnel highly beneficial.

Education/Training/Certifications

• High school diploma required; Bachelor of Science highly recommended.

Additional Requirements

• Must show proof of your legal right to work in the United States.
• This position requires US Citizenship.
• Must be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) and a Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) Credential.
• All candidates must pass a post-offer drug screening and background check.
• Valid State of Hawaii drivers' license in good standing.
• Candidates must have access to reliable transportation
