As an Extrusion Department Manager, you will:

• Follow and enforce all applicable plant rules, safety rules, housekeeping rules, maintenance rules, and security rules
• Supervise shift employees, train employees and work hand in hand with the employees
• Coordinate activities between other shifts, quality control, shipping and receiving, and maintenance
• Perform daily inspections of major operating equipment and work areas. Correct any problems. Record all deficiencies in operating and processing conditions.
• Ensure that all required employee (operator) activities are performed on each shift per the employee (operator) performance checklist and published job duties.
• Manage department activities to meet or exceed production and material yield targets while assuring product meets quality specifications.
• Maintain a clean and efficient department through excellent housekeeping and implementation of Lean 5S principles.
• Document production results including downtime, input pounds, output pounds, waste, etc.
• Develop and implement ways to improve safety, increase productivity, improve product quality, reduce operating costs, and minimize waste
• Perform employee evaluations and recommend disciplinary actions to human resources and production manager
• Responsible for reporting and documenting all necessary maintenance repair items, required process improvements, quality control concerns, and production supply levels, i.e., boxes, skids, liners, chemicals, etc. to the facility manager.
• Other duties as required by management

This is a full-time, Direct Hire opportunity. The ideal candidate will have:

• Possess a high school diploma (minimum). College degree preferred.
• Must have effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
• 5+ years of direct supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Should have extrusion process experience in PET resins.
• Should have experience in PET resin solid stating processes.
• Must be a good problem solver, a good listener, analytical and hands on.
• Must be experienced in safety procedures, quality procedures, good manufacturing procedures, and good maintenance procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Understanding basic characteristics of different types of plastics.
• Should have some basic knowledge of material handling processes.

Salary: $80,000 to $120,000 per year *Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
