Job Description - Food Technician

Job Title: Food Technician

Position Overview: As a Sensory Technician, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our sensory lab functions. Your responsibilities will include preparing for panel training, executing tests, maintaining lab equipment, and ensuring the upkeep of our sensory spaces. Additionally, you will lead sensory and shelf-life training sessions for various departments, contributing to our commitment to excellence in product development and quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage sensory-related testing for all projects, including scheduling and generating reports.

  • Lead sensory and shelf-life training sessions for R&D, Quality, and Operations teams. Maintain sensory software and hardware to ensure smooth operations.

  • Ensure a safe, clean, and organized environment in the Kitchen and sensory room. Support product and packaging teams with shipments as needed.

  • Complete analytical testing and provide reports on sensory tests/projects. Serve as an additional resource during kitchen meal preparations and in the pilot plant.

  • Support local food culture activities both internally and at remote sites. Maintain stocking levels of kitchen supplies, sensory supplies, finished products, and benchtop ingredients.

Requirements:

  • Preferred experience in a scientific lab or food preparation environment. Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook.

  • Fundamental math skills, including percentages and conversions.

  • Strong planning and organizational abilities with a keen eye for detail. Ability to work independently and take initiative in problem-solving.
