Job Description - Fund Reconciliation Specialist

Job Description and Duties

Under the direction of the Accounting Administrator I (Supervisor), of the Fund Reporting Unit, the Associate Accounting Analyst coordinates and prepares monthly appropriation reconciliations of various Governmental and Non-Governmental Funds for expenditures, revenue and reverted appropriations between the Department and the State Controller's Office (SCO) records.  The incumbent is responsible in the review and analysis of reconciling items to determine the proper accounting action for adjustments and corrections to FI$Cal or SCO records as well as posting all General Ledger entries for each of the assigned funds. The incumbent is also responsible for the preparation of the annual Year-End financial statements and Fund Balance Reports for their assigned funds.
