Scope: The Human Resource Assistant will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organizations Human Resource department.
Will work with management to build a talent workforce through recruiting, building relationships with outside vendors, and the apprenticeship program
Duties/Responsibilities: - Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation. Answer frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
- Assist in recruitment process, including posting job openings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews and coordinating interview schedules.
- Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
- Provides clerical support to the HR department.
- May assist with payroll functions including processing, answering employee questions, fixing processing errors, and distributing checks.
- Conducts or assists with new hire orientation.
- Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, etc.
- Assist with apprenticeship programs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Assist with processing of job changes and terminations.
- May assist with the preparation of human resource reports such as attendance, new hire and turn over reports.
- Assist with compliance related tasks i.e. EEOC, OSHA.
Required Skills/Abilities: - Associates’ Degree in a related field or 2+ years’ experience in administrative support
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of Human Resource principles, practices and procedures
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management
Bi-Lingual abilities (Spanish) preferred
