Job Description - Human Resources Business Partner

Job summary We’re looking for someone to help spice things up around Executech! We need a Human Resources Business Partner that will give sage advice put things gingerly and help hurry our teams to success. In your past roles you may have seen it all before but at Executech the team and people are truly the salt of the Earth. The bread and butter of this position is to deal with the HR needs of the whole family of Executech employees. Responsibilities include: • Determine and recommend employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale.
• Administer payroll functions including routine payroll processing reporting and
• Coordinates employee benefits including open enrollment and change of life submissions.
• Handling employment-related inquiries from applicants employees and supervisors referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
• Be a trusted human resources advisor for employees and managers. Provide coaching counseling and career development guidance to people leaders
• Manage Human Resources Information System hand-in-hand with other team members
• Complete employee onboarding tasks for on-site and remote teams
• Ensuring compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations and adherence to best practices (particularly in Utah, Arizona, California, Colorado, Washington and Oregon)
• Reviewing current policies and practices and updating when necessary to maintain compliance.
• Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings terminations and investigations.
• Complete basic office manager duties for a small but active regional office.
• Manage the front desk and aid with administrative tasks.
• Performs other duties as assigned. The ideal candidate for this position: • Values people first solutions. This is a person who has been frustrated by some traditional HR processes and understands the value of clear communication and expectations honest dialogue and common-sense approaches.
• Embraces a growth mindset. This person has expertise in helping develop and strengthening HR in fast-growing companies. This is someone who sees the gaps and knows the solutions to fill them. They have a sense of urgency and know how to move things forward quickly and with a strong sense of priorities.
• Is a rock. When things get chaotic this person is at their best and is willing to jump in where needed. They understand hard work and will bring a sense of humor lightness and encouragement to lead the team.
• Values teamwork and has natural mentoring skills. This is someone who has built meaningful experiences mentoring or developing staff even without a formal reporting relationship. They naturally see people’s potential and strengths and work to bring more of those out through stretch assignments.
• Loves taking care of people. This person gets the importance of running simple and effective systems that make everyone’s life easier. Through their excellent listening skills they make sure people feel seen and heard. Understanding of multi-site offices and remote employees and how to keep people connected is a huge plus.
• Knows your salts. Won’t cry over spilled milk. Is the icing on the cake. Will have the cake and eat it too. Skills/Minimum requirements • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college/university or equivalent work experience required
• 3+ years of experience in progressively responsible human resource roles
• PHR/SPHR certification preferred
• HRIS and benefit management experience (ADP preferred)
• Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with excellent organizational skills. • Experience managing multiple projects/initiatives simultaneously and executing successfully to completion.
• Reliable knowledge of State and Federal employment law.
• Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office including Excel and PowerPoint.
• Requires strong communication skills both verbal and written organizational skills both analytical and problem solving
• Extremely organized. Strong multi-tasking time-management skills and achieve deadlines under pressure.
• Can handle sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality.
