Job Description - Human Resources Generalist

Simon Eye and Center for Advanced Eye Care are partner practices with a combined 27 Optometrists, 8 Ophthalmologists, and 150 staff serving patients across the state of Delaware and in Pennsylvania with locations in West Chester and Bucks County. We are aligned to ensure our communities can access patient-centered, medically oriented full service eyecare delivered in convenient locations with friendly, knowledgeable doctors and staff. As the Human Resources Generalist, you will be responsible for the implementation of Human Resource programs by providing human resources services, including talent acquisition, staffing, employment processing, onboarding, performance evaluation administration, health and welfare benefits, training and development, records management, safety, and health, AA/EEO compliance, state licensing compliance, policy, and procedures, and completing personnel transactions for designated regions of locations. Your success in this role will be driven by your in-depth knowledge and understanding of and experience with Simon Eye systems and processes. What You’ll Do:
Recruitment and Onboarding
  • Conducts recruitment effort and new-employee orientations for all exempt and nonexempt personnel (excluding providers).
  • Place ads, attend job fairs, screen and interview qualified applicants, administer skills assessments, complete all required paperwork and associated documentation.
  • Handle all administrative tasks for onboarding, new-hire orientations, and exit interviews, including data entry in human resources information systems (HRIS) and audits for accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare paperwork and schedules for smooth new-hire onboarding process, coordinate with cross-functional departments to deliver an exceptional first-day experience.
  • Act as liaison with recruiting sources and agencies, recording and tracking status of authorized positions.
Employee Relations
  • Provide a dedicated and effective HR advisory service to employees that covers absence and health issues, conduct and capability, grievances, organizational change, and all other employee-relations matters.
  • Provides day to day performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention.
  • Keep current on practice needs by shadowing staff positions, spending time in clinic, and reviewing patient surveys, etc. 
Generalist
  • Assists in developing and executing personnel procedures and policies, and provide guidance and interpretation for business operations.
  • Administer performance reviews and salary administration as per company policy.
  • Maintain Human Resource Information System records and comply reports from database. Maintain employee files for Federal, State and Licensing requirements.
  • Protect Human Resources and Company’s value by keeping information confidential.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Participate in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
  • Project a positive attitude and image to staff, patients, and outside contacts.
What you’ll Need
  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree (preferred).
  • Knowledge of HRIS administration is required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong collaborating skills, and an ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to problem solve and exercise judgment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Must be organized, flexible and dedicated to quality service delivery.
  • Must demonstrate integrity and ethical standards in job performance.
  • This position may be required to travel to other Simon Eye locations during the business day.  Job requires periodic site visits to any/all Simon Eye locations.
