In this role you will join a talented team of collaborative Human Resources professionals that are dedicated to improving the employee experience at Sargent & Lundy. Responsibilities will likely include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Facilitates all phases of the recruitment process
  • Collaborates with department managers to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria.
  • Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the organization
  • Schedules interviews; oversees preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials
  • Assists with the interview process, attending and conducting interviews and debriefings with managers and other stakeholders
  • Collaborates with the hiring manager and/or other human resource staff during the offer process, identifying and recommending salary ranges, start dates, and other pertinent details
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies
  • Attends and participates in college career fairs
  • Interpret and explain company policies and procedures to employees.
  • Answers general employee benefits questions.
  • Assist with HR department research requests pertaining to policies, recruitment, and/or training.
  • Prepare employment records related to hiring, terminations, leaves, transfers, or position changes.
  • Conduct exit interviews.
  • Compile and prepare HR-related status reports as requested.
  • Handle special Human Resources projects as assigned.

This position offers a hybrid schedule with the expection of 2-3 days per week in the office, and the remainder remote / virtual.

We do not sponsor employees for work authorization in the U.S. for this position.

 

Required skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Management with a major/concentration in Human Resources or a related field
  • Knowledge of labor laws
  • Strong internal and external customer service focus
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously - orientated on results
  • Ability to diagnose problems and identify and drive appropriate solutions
  • Ability to use qualitative and quantitative data to make informed decisions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bias for action, strong work ethic, and desire to achieve excellence
  • Passion for innovative HR solutions and process improvement
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Familiarity with internet sourcing skills, such as Boolean search, and experience with some of the following: LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, or other job boards.
  • Function effectively in a fast-paced recruiting environment
  • Willing to travel and work occasional overtime

Valued but not required skills and experience: 

  • HR internship experience.
  • 1 or more years of experience as a recuiter or HR Generalist
  • Experience at a consulting, professional services, or architecture / engineering firm, or staffing firm
  • Experience working with iCIMS
  • Experience working with Cornerstone
  • HR Certifications
