**NORCAL Ambulance is looking to hire a skilled Human Resources Generalist!**

Basic Functions: Provide day-to-day support in all decentralized HR functions for a given region or territory from recruitment, onboarding, file and certification maintenance, off-boarding, attendance tracking, benefits, employee relations and other supportive tasks. 

Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment: Receive applications, contact applicants for required certifications, set up and assist/conduct interviews. Contact post interview for offer/decline.
  • Onboarding: Create new hire logins into all systems, coordinate completion of all onboarding tasks with new hires and receive all new hire paperwork. 
  • Orientation: Conduct HR portion of orientation, explain all HR aspects providing contacts and ensure paperwork completion. 
  • Certification Tracking: Track all team members in assigned region for current certifications dependent upon team members position (i.e., drivers’ license, EMT license, CPR, OSHA and other HR mandated training, etc.,)
  • Attendance and Leave Tracking: Monitor attendance records for team members in assigned region. Track for trends. Receive leave of absence (LOA) requests, check leave qualifications, and administer LOAs. 
  • Benefit Administration: Initiate benefits administration for eligible team members, track hours worked, invoice for missed deductions, assist in Open Enrollment 
  • HRIS and File Maintenance: Ensure all team members in region have current files and up-to-date information in all software, HRIS programs.
  • Evaluations: Initiate annual evaluations for team members in region. Track and file completion, forward any necessary items to payroll for annual or other increases. 
  • Workers Compensation: Receive all new Workers Compensation incidents and claims. Receive Work Status Reports and coordinate light duty assignments where applicable. Complete all necessary paperwork for claim maintenance and completion including DWC-1 Forms, Wage Statements and other reports. Lead team members through return-to-work process.
  • Employee Relations: provide support to regional management in employee relations including investigations, reporting and tracking up to terminations. 
  • Off-Boarding/Exit Process: Receive and file resignation and termination paperwork. Ensure team member is removed from all access points, uniforms returned and exit interview completed. Track for exit trends in region to provide feedback to Regional Managers, Directors and C-Suite. 
  •   Ability to: hear, read and interpret information such as patient care reports, call in requests, and written instructions such as insurance claim forms and procedure manuals.
  • Type and write: routine call information and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to callers, before groups of customers, or employees. 
  • **Other duties as assigned 

Work Environment:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be under stress to answer multiple phone lines. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • The Generalist may be required to travel to stations/offices/locations in assigned region. If travel is required the Generalist will be compensated for travel and time.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), Bachelors degree preferred but not required.
