Human Resources Generalist/Partner

Gpac (Growing People & Companies) is a national search firm and we have been retained by a Los Angeles-based nonprofit organization to search for a Human Resources Generalist/Partner. This important organization works to address the effects of homelessness, poverty, mental and physical illness, abuse, and addiction.

Background

This organization is searching for a qualified and resourceful Human Resources Generalist/Partner to support their HR department in ensuring smooth and efficient business operations. The human resources generalist will have both administrative and strategic responsibilities, and will help with important functions such as staffing, training and development, and compensation and benefits.  

Responsibilities

• Investigating/handling HR issues such as harassment, discrimination, inappropriate behaviors, and termination recommendations.
• Assist in developing and executing personnel procedures and policies.
• Participate in development of HR objectives and systems.
• Suggest new procedures and policies for improving employee experience.
• Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook, employee directory, and organizational chart, and contribute to policy development.

Qualifications

• 3 years’ experience as a Human Resource Manager.
• Experience working for a social justice non-profit organization is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in human resources, business, or related field.
• 3 Years investigating/handling HR issues such as harassment, discrimination, inappropriate behaviors, and termination recommendations.
• Ideally has handled 250-400 FTEs in their scope of coverage
• Must be willing to work in LA City 3-5 days a week as needed (other days remote.)
• Must understand how to humbly cooperate with management and staff with great communication, but great professional boundaries.
• Tech savvy with Ceridian or other HRIS is required
• Dedication to DEI field, learning and topics.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness

Location: Los Angeles, CA. In person 3-5 days a week and other days remote.

Salary: $70,000 - $83,000

Benefits: ER pays 100% of EE medical premiums, dental, vision, sick time, vac time, 13 holidays, flexible work hours, exempt status position, 403b with a match.
